Paul B Technic Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 (edited) Tonight I have made some changes to 8070, now as the hood open it also runs the engine. Look at the video and photos below to see how I did it. I can still easily change it to just open the hood and I can also get it to turn turn the rear wheels. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdgcfjMJWzk Paul Edited May 5, 2011 by Paul B Quote
DLuders Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 @ Paul B: That is a nice modification! I will probably do the same thing to my 8070 this weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdgcfjMJWzk Quote
Paul B Technic Posted May 5, 2011 Author Posted May 5, 2011 Thank you, I am glad you like it. Paul Quote

Paul B Technic Posted May 22, 2011 Author Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) Some more changes. Now the V8 engine runs no matter what position the 4 speed gear box is in and these functions still all work, makes displaying it look that much better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRrAoQ4FPJI Edited May 23, 2011 by Paul B Quote
Paul Boratko Posted May 22, 2011 Posted May 22, 2011 I was thinking about building the 8070 set and converting the transmission to an actual 4 speed and figuring out another way to run the functions all using parts already in the set... I got a set for my wife back in January and she built it and I looked it over and there appears to be all of the proper parts to do it... I grabbed 10 of the 8070 sets when Toys-R-Us had their buy one get 50% off sale... After I get all of my projects together for Brickfair I might open one up and give it a shot... I haven't built a set since the 8448 Street Sensation came out... Quote

The front hood function doesn't exist because to engine wouldn't allow it": He also posted this of the naked Lego Technic V8 motor, for which his "goal was to make a better looking motor": Quote
