When i started to collect Lego, i was very little, maybe 3-4 years.

In the years of my childhood i create a lot of things with Lego Space elements, including huge spaceships and many robots.

My favourite concept was the "5 robot team" like Gatchaman, Voltron, or Power Rangers:

5 characters with different powers and abilities, 5 different vehicles (little jet, car, motorbike, tank and submariner) and a robot composed by the 5 vehicles.

Today i understand that is more easy to create this kind of idea, thanks also to bionicle and the others "robot" lines of Lego.

But, i think is not enough for me: i want also to HAVE inside my town some "movie" elements... and some "special" guests :)

So, i created (or i want to create in the future):

1-Bud Spencer and Terence Hill with the Dune Buggy;

2-Jack Burton, Egg Shen and Wang Chi with the Pork-chop Express and the chinese restaurant "Dragon of the Black Pool" (from the movie "Big trouble in Little China)

3-The Ghostbusters, with Ecto-1 and the Ghostbusters building (from the movie "Ghostbusters")

4-The Goonies, just kids playing around in the city with bikes... and maybe a pirate ship ;) And also the "Fratelli's" as criminals (from the movie "The Goonies")

5-Marty McFly and Doc Brown, with the Time Machine (from the movie "Back to the Future")

6-The Warriors at Coney Island Luna Park, with the panoramic wheels and maybe the Metro station (from the movie "The Warriors")

7-I would also do something from the movies "Labyrinth" and "The Neverending Story" but i don't know what i could do... maybe the city of Goblin and the Ivory Tower? Sounds very hard to create for me at the moment :)

8-I would to create also some shops from my childhood: the toyshop "Grazzini" (it was something like an italian "Toys'R Us"), the fast-food "Burghy" (similar to McDonald), the pastries/cake shop "Cremeria Sempione", and the roasted-chicken-shop "Girarrosto S.Rita". Those are (or was) all italian shops here in Italy, between Milano and Torino, where i lived.

Those are just my first ideas to insert "something special" inside my imaginary town :) This give to me the possibility to have in one place all the things i like and the fictional characters from my favourite movies :) And to have nostalgic places that i cannot visit no more (because some of them no longer exist).

Why i have to build a toy shop, when i can build the toy-shop from my childhood? And why i have to create a fast-food when i can build my favourite fast-food when i was a kid? :) This is my Lego-builder philosophy.

Hope you liked my story, my ideas and i hope also i can show you something soon :)

Someone of you have something similar in his own town??? Please tell to everyone your story and ideas! :)

These are really inspiring ideas indeed! Placing them in your town is a very nice touch. Unfortunately I can't tell you my own ones, as I don't have an exact town, just some classic townhouses scattered around my desk/shelves. (But my 4yo DO have inspiring ideas that makes you flexible in building, like: (when the robot/house/whatever is almost ready) oh, and make it so it can turn into a (dog/robot/jet etc.) or and make it's arm so it can fold backwards too :), sorry I got a bit carried away.)

These kind of easter eggs you listed make the difference between a "nice" lego town and a jaw-dropping "awesome" town.

I'm a conformist! (is this what you say? :) do your things with your bricks

Burghy was a famous fast-food hamburger restaurant here in Italy.

From 1984 to 1996. Then McDonald buy all the 96 restaurants in the whole country, so Burghy ends his life.

Many people miss Burghy because was a lot better then McDonald, i'm one of this people ;)

And Grazzini was a little franchise-toy shop here in north Italy. I know about 4 different shops, but maybe there was more, i don't know. It was similar to Toys'r Us :)

As you can imagine, i really miss those places, im very nostalgic about the 80's!

Interesting question! I do have some strange elements in my town, though they're different from yours. If there's a non-town theme that I'm currently interested in, or that I think would make funny scenes, I'll try to throw a small reference to that theme into my town. For example, I used to have Squidman standing in line at my town's fish and chips stand and a ninja hiding behind the clock tower on the town hall. Now I have a gorilla suit guy perched atop a building and an alien sneaking around a construction site.
