RPupkin Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi everyone, first off I am not 100% sure if this is the right place for this question, so mods please feel free to move it. I also had a quick search but just came back with loads of hits unrelated to the question. Basically, I am looking to sell some of my atlantis sets and was wondering what would be the best way to post some of the larger items securely? I can send them without the boxes but I know that will probably get me less money overall. I mostly wondering about the portal of atlantis set, which has a box the size of the modular sets. Has anyone here sent a set this size through the post? How did you package it so as not to damage it in transit? Thanks for any advice you can give :) Quote
roamingstop Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I generally package the item using a second box; the first is inside (gap of about 2-3 cm) with scrunched up newspaper between the walls. This seems to be effective even for trans-atlantic. To be even safer, you could add some scrunched paper to the inside of atlantis box in order to stop it being 'squashed' - but generally that does not happen. You could also volunteer to add insurance at the buyers cost. Quote
HighFlyer Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 To add to "roamingstudio's" comment, I would sort the actual pieces into colour and size, and bag the different groups into zip-seal bags. For smaller LEGO sets/items, I use a large sized packet, with a bubble-wrap seal on the inside. Hope this helped Quote
