Dropsy Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hello all! Recently started collecting Minifigures with my wife. I am going to start getting more into the hobby and this looks like a great place to do it! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Welcome to EB, Dropsy! Great to have a new AFOL. So are the Collectible Minifigs your only interests right now, or do you buy other themes as well? Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Hi Dropsy and welcome to Eurobricks! So did your wife influence you on the LEGO hobby or did you both discover it at the same time? The Collectible Minifigures are indeed a great start for a minifig collection, hope this forum will somehow help you with that. Enjoy it in here! Quote
Dropsy Posted May 3, 2011 Author Posted May 3, 2011 I am going to start with minifigures of all themes including the series. I actually just learned what a vignette was, wow I can't wait to show the wife that, she wants to display minifigs in a "cool" way. We both discovered the hobby at the same time, I have always liked legos from when I was a kid but then I gave them all away to a poor boy down the street and now I am getting back into it. I also was wondering what does MOC mean? Also I see a shop mentioned alot on forums called S@H? I know what TRU is but unsure on this one. So a good start for us may be vignettes to display our minis. I will have to make a list and look for a place to buy parts! Quote

MOC - My Own Creation S@H - Shop @ Home Some more useful abbreviations/LEGO jargon here. So a good start for us may be vignettes to display our minis. I will have to make a list and look for a place to buy parts! Bricklink is the best place to purchase individual LEGO parts. Hope that helps! Quote

Welcome Dropsy. You can buy bulk from Bricklink but the price might be abit high. Another alternative would be to buy from Pick-a-brick, you can get alot of brick from there aswell Enjoy the forums Quote

I was just looking for a place to get like a few thousand pieces to start with that are random. I saw that some prices on bricklink are not to bad like .02 cents - .07 cents for pieces that are common. Ill see how pick a brick compares. Quote
