If we want to custom make LEGO sets, how do we get the necessary bricks and Lego parts?

I live in Singapore.

I am new to LEGO.

Well for stating out, you definitely need to start stockpiling parts. I recommend Lego.com to buy a big sets (i.e. Grand Emporium or Fire Brigade). Big sets = lots of parts @ decent price. Or you can check out their pick-a-brick (PAB) section. Make sure you choose you region if needed. (top right)

Another alternative is eBay.com/lego sets to see if you can get any sets at a price lower than Lego.com.

The other favorite among MOCer's is Bricklink.com. As with eBay, this will require a membership (free) and a way to pay (i.e. paypal.com) This site provides a ton of sellers that provide a huge selection of parts that can be sold individually or in bulk.

Its a very easy sight to use and there are tutorials on this site if you search (make sure you choose "search by relevance")

Best of luck :classic:
