AppleLEGO Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 (edited) Combine 5 sets of Atlantis 8061 – Gateway of the Squid, into a huge architecture, named “Castle of the Squid”. It's a modular-built and may recombine into others form. The squid of the castle "grille gates" are used "upside down" approach to building, in an attempt to match the brown curved wall. The "red technic-connector part" that can rotate,Is mainly used to hold the black giant squid. Basically, 3rd floor is original of 8061 set, only add-in fews component and little adjustment, to match the modular combination. ------ Please visit my brickshelf gallery, you'll find there more picture ! enjoy .Your feedback is valuables Edited April 29, 2011 by AppleLEGO Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Nice job with the upside-down gates, looks great! Keep the Brick Alive! ~Bayonet Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Very nice combination of those 5 8061 Atlantis sets. Pretty good idea for the modular build for added playability. But where are the figs? Quote

But where are the figs? oh .. cause it's Castle of the Squid ... so, i just placed giant & small squid and warrior only ..(see pic -2) Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 It looks a little crowded with all those figs and squid, but that doesn't really detract from the MOC itself. ~Bayonet Quote

Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Nice work! I too like the modular affect you have done. Quote
Gregorovich Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 This is very good! The upside down gates are really nice, and there's plenty of great techniques throughout. If you added some divers, removed a few squids and added a red submarine this could make for a great D2C set, and you could've entered it into the contest. Well done, and thanks for sharing! Quote

Thank you for your support and encouraging! Actually I completed this Castle of the Squid last year-end,because I’m very addict to the Atlantis theme. Total 5 boxes of 8061-Gateway of the Squid was purchased, and attempt to built a bigger architecture to hold all squids and warriors. Anyway, I've be posted my “Castle of the Squid” before in others forum, and the giant black squid was origin design by LEGO, wasn't me, so I’m not to decide to enroll this work piece into contest, I just want to shared this castle with all. I’m enroll my another new work piece ~ Temple of Poseidon in D2C contest; hope you all will like it. Click here link to Temple of Poseidon post. Edited May 1, 2011 by AppleLEGO Quote
