gambort Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) Medium Factory Instructions by gambort, on Flickr These little shops are common in parts of Australia and I've seen pictures of similar in the USA, Canada and NZ. Your stock standard light industry. With grit and instructions. Enjoy, Tim Edited April 26, 2011 by gambort Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Quite impressive LDraw design for this small industrial building gambort! Some pretty neat details you have there, like the huge roller door and the old-school door with viewing pane. Very good work! Quote
JopieK Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Very nice! Wish LDD would be able to render so nicely! The details are very convincing. Also very neat proportions. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Really nice building you've made there Gambort. Looks extremely realistic with the great details Quote
AussieJimbo Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Very nice, gambort. I've been playing with ideas for a roof over the workshop for my tyre place so I'll be interested in checking out your design. Might have to give the whole thing a go if I can get the parts together. :classic: Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Very nice work! I am happy to try building this. Quote
wooootles Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Wow, nice and realistic. Interesting door build. There are a couple of areas in Memphis TN with buildings like that. Small-business types that has been around since forever. Quote
gambort Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Thanks people. It would appear that Brickshelf is being extra slow to approve the actual instructions. They're http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/timgould/Instructions/SmallInd1/mediumfactoryinstr_page_1.png With numbers from 1 to 29 Tim Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Interesting building design 'gambort', though I'm more the actual rolling roller door kind of builder than brick-built door...yet the effect is there and it's perfect. The building does look like it has seen better days, well it is a factory I guess ! Brick On 'gambort' ! Quote
Captain Bayonet Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Your aging techniques are very good. It does have the 80s Small Warehouse look to it. Keep em Coming! Quote
Alexgri Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 How did you organise the parts to make the instructions? Thanks :) Quote
fred67 Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 (edited) It looks great, very light suburban type industrial building, just as you called it. My only problem is it seems to me that the rendering software is making the seams between bricks more pronounced than they would be, making the "brick work" more visible than it would be in a physically built one. Otherwise it looks great, ready for a sign, great use of colors, and, where I'm from, a trashcan and some litter. It would be interesting to make the door open... a rolling door might be a bit difficult, but a canopy style door might be doable. Something like this would definitely look good on a train layout. EDIT: I like your skeleton staircase, too! Edited April 27, 2011 by fred67 Quote

gambort Posted April 27, 2011 Author Posted April 27, 2011 How did you organise the parts to make the instructions? Thanks :) LPub does it all for me :) My only problem is it seems to me that the rendering software is making the seams between bricks more pronounced than they would be, making the "brick work" more visible than it would be in a physically built one. They're more regular but definitely not more pronounced. Hi, Nice work, my son and me very like it,and trying to build it. Very thanks. seb.vdn.france. Thanks. Please send me a pic if you do build it :) Tim Quote
