Stuck pieces

Okay, not sure if is it the right place or not but hey-ho, please move it if it isn't.

Okay, I bought some collectible minifgures today and... I got the Blacktron figures and the alien. Later on I stupidly put the purple 3 stud long bar piece from the alien into the robotic arm bit of the Blacktron figure, now it's stuck. Any advice on getting it out?

Get a pair of pliers. Carefully wrap the jaws with duct tape. couple wraps. Or use a rubber glove to cover the purple bar.

Then twist as you pull. Simple.

Thanks, the rubber gloves worked pretty much instantly. :) Don't really feel safe using pliers though.
