Montage Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Im really looking for a new program to try and start playing around with to help with some of my MOCS. I would greatly appreciate the best program that has good quality and many parts. Quote
AndyC Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Im really looking for a new program to try and start playing around with to help with some of my MOCS. I would greatly appreciate the best program that has good quality and many parts. By far the easiest digital building tool (in my opinion) is the official Lego Digital Designer, though you'll want to unlock Extended Mode to get a really good selection of parts (instructions can be found in the Eurobricks LDD forum). That said, SR3Dbuilder is pretty awesome for Technic mocs, as it includes a physics engine which allows you to see how gear movements will operate. Like most LDraw based tools though it requires rather more time to learn to use, but does have a bigger selection of parts (particularly older ones). Quote
DLuders Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 @ Montage: There is a lot of information about Lego Digital Designer in this Eurobricks LDD Index topic. Look for the "Software Downloads" portion to get the software. SR 3D Builder is BETTER for complex Lego Technic designs, but it has a steeper learning curve. It is discussed on this Eurobricks topic by xSergio74, the author of SR 3D. Quote
