I have built a big grand courthouse with the new fluted columns out the front. I am working on a triangular roof like the one in the Atlantis Temple but I have no idea what sort of decoration I should put there.

Can anyone suggest decoration that would fit? Can anyone suggest a way to build one of those statues with the scales like you see at courthouses?

Nice picture and yes, I am building something along those lines.

Something intended to look like it was build as a greek/roman style building in the past and then it was demolished and rebuilt with only the facade being retained.

Still not sure what I can add that will make it clear to people looking at it on the layout that its a courthouse though.

That's easy, a sign 'jonwil', print some signage....Court House, plus other signs connected with said building. I'm still trying to think about that statue with the scales of justice - how to make it that is ?

Could possibly use a doll from Lego Scala or Bellville. You'd have to paint it white or brick-build the head maybe if that is possible.

Most courthouses of course aren't quite that imposing!

London's famous Old Bailey courthouse would also make an interesting model. http://www.e-architect.co.uk/images/jpgs/london/old_bailey_nw030809_1.jpg . No need for oversize statues but a very complex, challenging build.

[Edit] just seen other picture of Old Bailey with oversized statue on roof- D'oh! (well in my defence M'lud I don't live in London so I've never seen it close up). I think I'll shut up now.

I think courthouse and I always picture stairs leading up to it, with a mob of reporters/media there trying to get the story from either the defendant (and their counsel) or the prosecutor. I reckon that would add a finishing touch to any courthouse, although that's more using it for a vig, and not so MOC.

I would say though steps seem integral to any courthouse in my head!

I already have stairs leading up to the entrance.

And my ABC (Australia) TV News truck and the reporters I made will be perfect. Just need to find someone to stand out the front. Probably some kind of cop (speaking on behalf of the police/prosecution) as I have lots of spare cops :)
