(LDD MOCs) Rebellion in Rho Sector

I've been working for a while on a series of MOCs set in a fictional no-alien galaxy ruled by a single galactic power, the Union of Planets. I've hosted the pictures on flickr and much more thorough information on MOCpages, but I've been reading through these forums lately and I really like the spirit here. Still, I don't want to flood you all with MOCs, so I thought I'd drop you an image of the latest ship, and the link to my work on MOCpages, and welcome any comments you may have. The LDD forums here are absolutely the best resource for troubleshooting and techniques I've found, and people seem very helpful and polite, which is such a rare treat on the internet.

This is a Coronado class command ship, 308 studs long, which puts it at about half the length of the largest ship in the set. All ships are in minifigure scale, and all were built with full detailed interiors.

I love the shaping and color scheme you've gone for here. Grey and Yellow is one of my favorites for sci-fi.

I do have a suggestion, if you accept constructive criticism, and that being that I notice a lot of your larger craft are built studs-up and partially tiled over. This is great if you're going for a Classic LEGO look or something that looks like it could fit in with today's sets, but if you want something that's smooth and looks more refined, I think these would look even better in SNOT. That, though, would require essentially a complete rebuild from the ground up, so if you decide that this current style is the one you like best, these are still exceptional LDD models.

Thanks for sharing your LDD MOC (and the link to your previous ones) here in EB Judah! I must really say I'm very impressed with all of your spaceship designs, from all the different sizes and classes that you created. What's even more impressive that they're all minifig-scale and have detailed interiors. If it's just ok with you, you might want to share your LXF for people to have a closer look at your models. This practice will give members a better appreciation of your builds and at the same time will encourage healthy exchange of views, comments, and constructive criticisms. (But it's also totally ok if you choose not to). And I agree you've come to the right place for LDD troubleshooting and building techniques, we have very competent LDD builders and experts over in the dedicated LDD subforum to provide their insightful views.

I think it's a perfectly valid criticism. The studs don't make a lot of sense. The oldest of these ships go back to LDD... 2, I want to say, and there were fewer parts to choose from, and also many of the things that I knew should work in real life just didn't work, which was frustrating. Of course there are examples of some limited SNOT techniques in these models, but they're so huge that it's hard to get any sense of detail, and I don't think I've stumbled on anything worth showing off individually. Now I'm just keeping the new ships consistent with the old ones, I guess.

Wow.

That ship is huge! I didn't grasp the scale at all until I realized what Star Destroyer you were talking about.

Just took a look through your gallery, suffice to say I'm very impressed. I like the feeling of the ships very much, for me they are for some reason very reminiscent of WWII battleships.
