Hi all again, here with an interesting MOC project. I have recently gotten a few extra islander minifigs on top of those from my catamaran and kahuka throne set. I have always admired the Islanders for being able to stand up to the great pirate-imperial wars with nothing but arrows and spears, but What if the Islanders became the wiser and started making bigger and better boats than plain canoes, and importantly, given guns and gunpowder? And not to mention that Islander Mocs are far and few, but some can be really fun and interesting. Just search for islander moc thread.

Anyway, hope I could build up my variety of shipbuilding genres and also inspire the master shipbuilders out there to try something different :) The boat is still in a WIP progress, and bricks can still be edited for a better version, so please offer comments and critiques and we can all improve(Of course, my stash of bricks allowing for said recommendations).

This is a main overview of the warboat. Hulls are semi brickbuilt, invilving attaching a brown boatlaunch to several plates, and a bracket brick to mount the brown wings and plates sideways.

The stern is simple, I have yet to add the oar rudder similar to the catamaran. It is so empty I might add a small grey brickbuilt effigy of a god. Also, Kahuka's war throne, a shield wall around the poop deck will eventually be added.

Mast is simply a sailboat mast, with long 1xplates built together. The sail is planned to be a trapezium cross between a lateen and a gaff sail. And it will be painted using pastel colours in the fashion of the Kahuka coat of arms.

A rower's spot for 4 rowers, is commonly found, when there is no wind to power the proa, or when the islanders decide to increase speed to 'Ramming speed'( Ben-hur reference)

A serpent head is added. This might resemble Ku, the Polynesian feathered god of war. I have ordered a part 30276 Akku's facemask as well.

the outrigger is simple at the moment, just some red 1x and 2x bricks, with a slope front. It is attached to the main boat using archs and 1x plates.

That is all for now. I will update as soon as I have made the sails and added more bricks! Keep on brickin'!

A nice creation, can't wait to see it finished. I like the idea of a shield wall, that would be very cool. :kahuka:

Nice to see Islanders getting some attention, and remember, Ook Ook Aak Ook!
