Wout Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 I would love a few white 32x32 and tan 32x32 on the same way they sell the green and blue one, I heard from a friend who had bought some, she bought it with a lug travel to Billund in the shop for people who work at Legoland Billund. Quote
sonicstarlight Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I'm just hoping that the modular line will keep the base plates off the chopping block completely, as switching to those new 16x16 plates they've been favoring in the Creator like would mean the pins on any new modular wouldn't be able to connect with any of the previous ones. I used to get the Creator sets just for parts and then use their base plates for MOCs, but that looks to be a thing of the past. Very rarely do I see 32x32 in Lego stores in anything other than blue, which doesn't work for the city sets I make, and Bricklink is about the only place left for 16x32 ones, and they seem to get more expensive by the day. While I am honestly not a huge fan of base plates, with their thinner profiles that often curl up a bit when attaching a bunch of plates and tiles to them, the thought of having to swap out all the ones on the 15 buildings I have for the new plates is even less appealing. LandShark Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I'd love to see Lego release more baseplates. I've found the current ones very useful (for play and display ), but new ones would be perfect. There's so many colours and sizes they could do, and it would really inspire creativity to think what different one could be used for. But, I suppose there are reasons for not doing them, as Aanchir said. But if they did, I would welcome them in open arms. Quote

The LEGO Game Ramses Pyramid includes a tan 32x32 baseplate, if that helps. Of course it costs a lot more than just a baseplate normally would, but you also get a bunch of other parts (and instructions and game rules, of course!). I'm just hoping that the modular line will keep the base plates off the chopping block completely, as switching to those new 16x16 plates they've been favoring in the Creator like would mean the pins on any new modular wouldn't be able to connect with any of the previous ones. I imagine they'll keep them around for a while for just that reason. Quote
The Blue Brick Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I couldn't imagine myself not using baseplates. To me the regular plates are always to small, even if they are the largest ones. The only time I use regular plates for a base is on small vignettes. Quote
