Dazmundo Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I am heading down to Legoland Windsor tomorrow with my family. My daughter is only 15months but I'm sure she will enjoy looking at the models. The other kids we are taking love the rides, it'll be their 3rd visit in 2 weeks! Is there anything I should look out for, maybe things only those 'in the know' would see (such as the Simpsons watching the changing of the guards)? Anyone know if they have any particularly good deals on in the shops or if they have any exclusive sets? Getting quite excited , We are getting annual passes so this will not be my only visit this year! D Quote
Vindicare Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I want to go pretty bad myself, sadly no plans to do so yet... My parents friends took their grandchildren a few times, them not being AFOLs, they absolutely loved looking at all the models and scenes/cities recreated. Quote
Gregorovich Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I may be going sometime during the summer, so this is good for me too ! I went last Easter with my family, so I know that certain themes are only available in certain shops (e.g. Adventure themes like Indy are only available in the Adventure Land). As for things to see, the Miniland is very interesting. The models were very interesting. I think that there's a few good rides, too. I hope you enjoy your trip! Quote
brickyrob Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Lucky Dazmundo! Let us know how you get on - maybe take a few choice piccies to share? Quote

I have been before, the relatives we are going with have 3 kids so it is useful to have a 3rd adult with them and as I'm a teacher I'm on holidays when they are going so I often go along to 'help out' it's such a hardship for me They were at the after dark event on Saturday and got their Limited edition Duplo bricks unfortunately I couldn't make that one. D You are very lucky indeed ! I live quite a while away from it (a different country, actually), and the only reason I'm going down is because my younger cousin who lives in Oxford is making his first Communion. I thought I'd just make the suggestion to my mother that the younger kids might enjoy a trip to LEGOLand while we're down there, and that I could accompany them . Anyway, enjoy your trip (although it's probably not as thrilling for you as it is to us who don't go that often )! Quote
Dazmundo Posted April 29, 2011 Author Posted April 29, 2011 Heading to Legoland again tomorrow :) I will try to get some more pics (No battery or memory card in the camera last time - blame the wife) Meeting up with a couple of friends and their 2 young kids who have never been before so it should be fun :) D Quote
Dazmundo Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 Thought I would post some pics of my two recent visits. I didn't take loads of pics just tried to get some of things I throught people would like to see. Will & Kate outside the palace Changing of the guards (New version for this season, you can tell by the bright bricks) Look who is watching in the stands... Lego may not have the licence but that doesn't stop the Daleks invading London Don't worry Dr Who is here The NASA display has some new visitors too Last weekend they had a 'Where's Wally' competition running so even though it wasn't officially still running I kept my eyes open.. Watching changing of the guards With the Top Gear team At the shuttle launch They are in the process of building a hotel in the park so I thought I'd show you a couple of building shots Artisits impression D Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Great shots of Windsor 'Dazmundo'. hope to see some more Quote
Pingles Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 Thanks for the pics. Although we have a Legoland in our state its too close to Disneyland for us to escape Walt Disneys tractor beam. Going to be a few years before I can talk my family into a Lego visit. Quote
bricklayer Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 holy crow man. you guys were hit with a 2.5% tax increase. looking back i guess they had to pay for the royal wedding somehow LOL Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Cool pics! LEGOLAND looks delightful; I wish I could visit all the parks. I've wanted to go since I was a kid, but never have until this year. I'll be at the grand opening of the Florida park this fall, though! It's really neat to see all that Doctor Who stuff in there, and surprising since a different construction toy company has the license. Perhaps the park licensed it on its own without going through LEGO and it's not a problem since they're not selling actual sets. Quote
