Hello, i was wondering if anyone know the name of a lego based comic from the 90s i think, i remember reading it as a kid and im 30 years old.

The story was based on a large white with blue markings spaceship (with the actual ship built in lego bricks at the end of the album so you could reproduce it) and the bad guys had a large base that could walk and it was on a jungle world.

They used fighters that looked similar to X-wings but it was not a star wars comic.

This might be a common thing but i just joined the forum and i have no idea what to search for really, since i only have a dim memory to work with.

Thanks in advance :).

I think you mean 'Jim Spaceborn'.

*Btw, weird how a 80's comic has 'fleshie' heads instead of yellow... *huh*

I picked this comic up a few months ago, but haven’t posted about it until now.

It’s a Danish comic by Frank Madsen. It’s about Jim Spaceborn and his friends from the Spearhead and their adventures through space, where they fight the evil Kazak. The comic is nothing special in terms of story but it’s kind of cute, and it has a few interesting builds depicted in it.

Has anybody heard about this one before?

Ugh, I’m an idiot :hmpf: I should have searched for it. It’s not even that long ago that the thread was made. I should in general probably check the sci-fi forum more often.

One thing that I find interesting about the comic is how closely Kazak’s people resemble the Blacktrons, despite the comic predating the Blacktrons by a year.

I have it! It's a great comic, and I agree that it has some fascinating builds in it. This is the earliest example I've seen of a story built around LEGO, and I think it's just as charming as modern Lego media like Clutch Powers.

I think this topic still deserves to stay; the old one was just a question/answer topic. We could use this one to discuss the book itself.

It is interesting, but then again themes back then were often in development for years before hitting the market. Brickjournal Issue 6 had a bit of info on the history of LEGO Space, even though it didn't state how long Blacktron was in development before hitting store shelves.

I have this in Dutch.

I don't know much about other episodes, but there was also one about some children in Classic castle theme.
