lightningtiger Posted April 10, 2011 Author Posted April 10, 2011 G'day everyone, I scratched my head thinking should I include some other things so later on today...... These should be simple to knock up in Lego, sadly the truck jack will have to be a static one in the corner of the workshop.....though I'll look into it ! Keep on watching out for this update later on today (of course that's SA time....+9.30hours past GMT) K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Oh, I'm having fun with all these...handy that 3 wide radio cassette eh ? Comments welcome and K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
Out of Sight Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 (edited) So what tune is that boombox playing there..? I'm hearing INXS's 'Suicide Blonde'. Man I LOVE that song. I like that wheel balancing machine so much. I might just MOC myself a tire dealer after seeing this. Are you planning to make wheel alignment machine too? Edited April 11, 2011 by Out of Sight Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thanks for the comments 'Out of Sight', I would say the radio is playing Usher with 'More' - man, that's an AWESOME song - takes me back to my clubing days twenty years ago ! No I won't be installing a wheel alignment machine, though I still might design on for yourself and 'AussieJimbo' to copy......I'll think about ! I hope to inspire other members of EB to expand Lego city, there is enough cop shops and fire stations.....but where are the tyre dealers, beauty salons and vet clinics eh ? Come on everyone and MOCing.....our ideas spur Lego on - lets make Lego city a better place for our minifigs to live ! K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
Legoist Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Gap filling I'm getting good at, so right now it's still a W-I-P.....feel free to comment and suggest ! ... K.O.B. everyone and watch out for the next update ! I think it would make a very nice small addition to any town, and the colour scheme for some reason just screams "tyres" to me! Quote
SilentMode Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 This reminds me of Kwik Fit, a garage company we have over here with a similar colour scheme. I didn't know they made that garage door part in (opaque) blue! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thanks 'SilentMode' and 'Legoist' for your kind words, I got those blue pieces from Toy Corner, now where did they come from set wise ? I must still make a custom minifig tomorrow.....so again I'll say it - keep on watching ! Quote
HeLena Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Good for you, Lt! Very cute MOC, I like your MOCs so much! I just can't avert my glance from the first pic! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 Thank you 'HeLena', very kind words indeed from the princess of mini-vig's....your work is excellent as well. Just remember everyone, I'll be posting again with a custom figure to go with this.....now I start searching ! K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Whew, done ! Yep, it's a female shop owner/tyre mechanic. Comments still welcome and K.O.B. everyone ! Quote
HeLena Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 Whew, done ! Yep, it's a female shop owner/tyre mechanic. Comments still welcome and K.O.B. everyone ! Woman? He-he, why? :) Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Woman? He-he, why? :) Why not, the business was left to her by her father when he lost his creative spark (died in other words). I actually known a few women, who have tried motor mechanics out, as well as TV tech's and I know a woman who became a butcher and ended up teaching butchery at a trade college. Nothing should stop women for trying and achiving in a job that is usually for a man. Keep on singing Helen Ready.....I am women, hear me roar ! Brick On princess of mini-vig ! Ahaha, lightningtiger, you're so cool! But I don't think than women should do men's work. This is my silly position) Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Ahaha, lightningtiger, you're so cool! But I don't think than women should do men's work. This is my silly position) Well thank you....I am so cool !? And you have your ideals which are yours and stand by them always 'HeLena'. Pardon me saying so but you live in Russia, well back 70 years ago women served in the front line against the invading Germans....which would normally be considered men's work. LEGO Guy Bri Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 (edited) Neat minifig 'Lt' alothough I'd say she needs a partner... or a sister! She'll need that extra set of hands when 'Outback Mike' comes looking for some bigger crawler tires. They get pretty heavy! Keep up the great work! Edited April 12, 2011 by Leg Godt Gud Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 12, 2011 Author Posted April 12, 2011 Thanks 'Leg Godt Gud' for your comments, actually she is an independent woman ! Though a field service truck with a guy driving it....who could have something going on or he thinks he has eh ? A field service truck for tractor tyres.....now there's an idea ! Keep on watching ! lightningtiger Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 I did some digging and found this. Now how close did I get with my MOC eh ? Should I sticker 'Service Centre' above the roller door yes or no ? Keep on watching ! Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 I found a small design flaw and today as I'm rebuilding New Mannum after the train show, it's not much but it joins the CBC store better now while not losing it's frontage. Any other suggestions and usual comments are very welcome......Brick On Everyone ! Quote
