LEGO Guy Bri Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Greetings, I have searched and searched EB for info and topics regarding the town subtheme, 'Arctic' sets. I only found a bit of info on the "mystery Arctic sets 6576 (Pull Sled) and 6570 Snowmobile" and a review of 6626 poly-bag, Snow Scooter. Then I ran out of relevant topics. My brother and I collected these sets and this is now my Arctic Collection. Only missing 1. I understand this theme did not fair well among buyers as it lasted a few years with no new sets. I would like to know other members' opinions on this subtheme or particular set(s). I recently found all of these intact after 9+ years and am considering two options. Try and sell them (not doing well on eBay) or more likely, due to that reason, building a separate table at a distance from my city layout. Call it Legarctica or something more creative ... Anyway, what would you do? I'm in a cross road with these. It's pretty much 99% of an entire theme AND can be incorporated associated with my city but, did not do well in sales or resale. They also, may be odd to have in the same room as the city or worth selling with low ball prices and the fact I still like them. Quote
Buckshot Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Well, of course it's your town and what you add or don't add to it is what makes it uniquely yours. If you want a snowy landscape next to a beach, put it in there. It's all about having fun, right? Maybe you could use your arctic sets to create a scene for Mr. Freeze. Or, if you're a fan of the show Big Bang Theory, you could use the arctic sets to recreate the time they did their experiment at the south pole. Quote
Deeks Posted April 8, 2011 Posted April 8, 2011 Perhaps you could somehow put them with the winter village sets Quote

You are correct, it is all about having fun The only Batman sets models are 'Artifex's' Batmobile and Tumbler Haven't seen "Big Bang Theory" but I'm pretty sure I can find the episode you're referring to. Perhaps you could somehow put them with the winter village sets I'm afraid this is all the "snow" I have in my collection I always wanted the Holiday themed sets for seasonal display but, city sets comes first in the budget. Thanks for the input 'Buckshot' and 'Deeks' Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 You could always use the sets to MOC the movie "Day after Tomorrow" The Day After Tomorrow is a 2004 American science-fiction disaster film that depicts the catastrophic effects of global warming in a series of extreme weather events that usher in global cooling which leads to a new ice age. The pictures of the Statue of Liberty and Manhatten under ice were awesome and thought provoking... Quote
