Sorry for cluttering the forum with virtual models..can't help it LDD-ing is cheap, fun, fast and makes alternating a model's build easier..especially if you're unsure and need suggestions, like err..this one.

While deciding what load my Scania T-series will be pulling along, I made something huge out of impulse. Lego did made a set of huge dumptruck the 7344, but I think the proportion is all wrong. So I made my own.

Influenced by the Terex Dumptrucks..with their distinctive sloped hood and white color.

Comparison in size with the 7631 dumptrucks, I made the big one in a more appropriate yellow..

I need ideas for the bed, more realistic hand railing and ladder..the truck is 12 wide, I need a bed which is around 12 x 12 big..

The ladder, if you're wondering is held in that angle with the help of a 1 x 8 plate, which protrudes 1 stud on both side of the hood, enough for the ladder to 'rest' upon.

Or I could just turn it into a semi tractor like this.

Thanks,mate!

Well that crossed my mind about making a brickbuilt steps, but wouldn't they be too thick and fragile? I would like to retain the thin steps/ladders just like when you see the real truck. Any ideas on the bed? What part number is the bed of the 7344? I'll try experimenting with technic panels.
