Cap'tanZarWolf Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Here's a slightly different kind of Hero Factory MOC, in a slightly different medium thanks to the new LDD update: (Posed pictures below the static ones) I wasn't really trying to accomplish much with this, just getting used to how LDD works with Hero Factory parts. I started out trying to re-make Spinax using the new pieces, but scraped that idea for a sort of jungle prowling predator type creature. Best part is that it isn't controlled by any under-whelming titian size villain, just a creature that would give the heroes some real trouble if they happened to bump into each other. I also intentionally left out eyes on the creature, as I feel it gives it more of an exotic look. It would mainly rely on hearing and smelling to determine where things are and what's around it. Similar to the Shirshu from Avatar the Last Airbender. The head was the hardest part of the MOC, giving me a little pause on how to create it. I decided to use some system pieces though, and I think it worked out decently well. Too bad this can't be purchased, it makes a decent size enemy (see Furno 1.0 made of 2.0 pieces for comparison). I'd love to hear feedback on it, especially if it will help me out in my further LDD adventures. P.S. I resized the images in Photobucket, but it didn't save some of them, then it appeared it did, then it doesn't. I'm not sure if its my cache fighting the re-sized images or Photobucket being weird, but if they seem too large, let me know and I'll try it again. Quote
Ceroknight Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 This is some beast you made! I really like all the spikes everywhere and the head is really well done as well! Quote
PhillipCD Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Great MOC! I like that not only is it huge, but it's also covered in spikes! But how did you get the brown armor? Quote
Aanchir Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Great MOC! I like that not only is it huge, but it's also covered in spikes! But how did you get the brown armor? Two ways: First way is to just click View>New Themes>LEGO Universe to switch a DesignByMe model into LEGO Universe mode, which allows you to recolor parts any color you like. Disadvantage to this is that LEGO Universe mode lacks many recent parts, including all Hero Factory parts, so you have to keep switching back and forth if you want to add new parts to your model. The second way is to unlock LDD Extended Mode. This allows access to any parts currently rendered in LDD, as well as a broader color palette. Quote

Aanchir Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 I know these LDD tricks, just LDD won't work on my computer! That is a problem. I'm personally not very knowledgeable when it comes to the technical aspects of LDD, but I'm sure plenty of people will be willing to help you if you start a topic in the LDD subforum here on Eurobricks. Chances are the members there will want a detailed description of what happens when you try to open LDD, and possibly some of your computer's specifications (I know some of them could walk you through how to get the necessary details; I certainly can't). But if LDD doesn't run at all, then that's a problem that ought to be addressed. Quote
