JasonM Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) I am trying to find a part like I had in some of my sets several years ago. It is just like the roof tile (1x1x2/3, PC) in LDD, however instead of the underside having the hole it had a knob instead. Many people use it on their MOC vehicles, particularly in the wheel wells. I can't seem to locate this piece and I'm wonderinging if anyone knows the part number or if this piece is actually in LDD (original or Universal mode.) Yes, I've used the search feature and I've Googled the part and can't find it or the part number. Here is a picture of the part I'm referring to. (pic is of a LDD from Richard Yang here. If this piece is no longer available (which I fear may be the case) does anyone know of a technique that I can use to accomplish the same thing within the same space constraints (any pics you can post would be helpful if describing a different technique.) Thanks in advance. Edited April 3, 2011 by JasonM Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I think the piece you're pointing to in the picture is a normal 1 x 1 x 2/3 slope mounted on an upside-down 1 x 4 plate or an upside-down 1 x 1 plate with clip. Quote
Superkalle Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Have to agree with Vincent. Try to download any of the LXF-files you can find in this topic to see how it's done: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=41733 Quote

But, there was a vintage piece that had that knob instead of hole on the bottom...shame it isn't still available making the whole technique not needed. But, in any case this method certainly does what I need...thanks! Quote

Chances are if you had one, it was either a custom piece or a piece from a clone brand. The "cheese slope" debuted in 2004, and there weren't any slopes before it that were smaller than 1x2. Quote
Ro87n Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) I'm looking for a part too. Well not really a part, but my general question is, is there any Minifig dress ('printed') in the LDD? Edit: Reffering to this one; Edited April 3, 2011 by Ro87n Quote

Edit: Reffering to this one; Nope. First of all, the decoration's not on LDD, and second, that slope piece doesn't even have any surfaces programmed in that can be decorated. Perhaps tomorrow's update might do something about that? But I don't have the highest confidence about that. To tell if a part can be decorated, you can unzip an LXF containing that part and open the LXFML in Notepad or another text editor. If that brick has a space labeled "DecorationID=0", then it can be decorated (this actually applies to some bricks that don't have decorations programmed in with the decoration tool, in which case the only way to decorate those surfaces is to plug in a decoration ID number in place of the zero). That code doesn't appear with the 2x2x2 brick, so a decoration can't be added whatsoever. Quote

Aanchir Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 And what about the top, I saw it in a LXF from another topic. But I can't find it in my own LDD program. The top is programmed in (both front and back prints), but you can't get it with the decoration tool in LEGO Universe mode. The easiest way to get it is to click View>New Themes>LEGO DesignByMe to switch to DesignByMe mode, and then either generate it from the Minifig Parts category or use the paint bucket tool on a torso piece already in the scene to create a torso with that decoration. You can then switch back to LEGO Universe mode and recolor it as you please. Alternatively, you can get it from my LDD decorations file in this post. This file has all the decorated parts that can currently be generated with LDD (including several others that can't be made with the decoration tool). But for that torso in particular, it's easier to just generate it in DesignByMe mode. Quote
prateek Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) Ok Jason, as you can see in the picture, the white 1x6 plate attached to the cheese slope is upside down. That means the builder found a way to attach the piece upside down to the hood, so no new pieces involved. Edited April 3, 2011 by prateek Quote
