apemax Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Hello all. Here's a model that i made in about half an hour. which i then made in MLCAD so the colours could be better. I've always liked the NBF so i decided to make a mini one. More pictures on the brickshelf page here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=467791 (once it becomes public.) First a picture of the "real" model: next a picture of the virtual one: A view of the "real" one from the side: A view of the virtual one from the side: Finally a view of the "real" one from the rear: And thats it. hope you like it. Blackknight112 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) You have the overall shape right I really don't like the use of so many random colours. you really need to get some more parts. Maybe you can get up in scale a little, so you can add some more details. Edited April 2, 2011 by Blackknight112 Quote
Scorpiox Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 (edited) Good start, the signiture shape is there but it is kinda hard to see what it is as it is so small and made of basic bricks. Here are some pics to help you a bit. Here is one someone else made so you can see how they did it. All credit goes to them. Nebulon-B frigate Moc For referance. Nebulon-B frigate Good luck! P.S. Now someone needs to make a tartan patrol cruiser to kick its butt! Edited April 2, 2011 by Scorpiox Quote
Mr Man Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Well done apemax it's instantly recognisable as a Nebulon-B, and the multi colour approach doesn't bother me (someone who also would struggle with finding enough bricks ). My only suggestion is maybe move the greebling at the front a bit closer to the start of the strut, and make it a bit longer, and make the strut 1 plate thicker, and 2 studs longer using this. Great job Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Nice mini-model of the Nebulon-B Frigate apemax, I think you got the basic shape right using your 'plates-only approach'. The multi-colored brickbuild does look weird, but I guess that's just a prototype (I also do the same technique when starting a certain MOC ) but you could always fix that when you have the right parts. And I agree with the others that if ever you decide to change your approach on this build, you could use a few more pieces other than plates to get more accurate details and you could even go to a larger scale to improve the overall look of this one. I was thinking about making one in a bit bigger scale to this one. I probably will once i finish my main moc that i'm in the middle of right now. Thanks. Yeah i build this mainly to see how small i could build it. I'll definitely build a slightly bigger one with more details. Quote
