DLuders Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 On his Flickr photostream, sunskyTechnic/ sunmint1 posted his "City Hunter" -- "A small technic MOC car presented to [12th BrickInside Creation Contest] in Mar 2011. More photos can be found on BrickInside Contest page [translated to English from the original Korean text] and there's a ." It uses an interesting front "steering idea to reduce the wheel space (where the tire moves)": It "separates on a large scale at three modules before, center and after. Also the door or the seat separates separately": There is too much to list here -- see much more on BrickInside. Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 What a great little entry! Such a small moc with a lot of functions. My personal favorite is the seats. Quote
hga09 Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 This is the best Technic car I have seen at this scale... Quote
grohl Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 I like the red version more. It has got a beautiful shape and enough functions to be fun to play with. The steering system is a good example of thinking out-of-the-box. Quote
kristl Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 I don't know whether is it just me, but it reminds me of the old VW Beetle Quote
efferman Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Nice Car in my eyes it looks like a Daihatsu Copen Quote
kristl Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Now that I looked at Daihatsu I agree with you.. Quote
sunsky Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) Hi, I am glad to see my work on this site and thank you for posting it I did not model a real car. I just imagined and built it. If I pick some real cars that influenced my imagination, they will be Audi TT, Porsche 911, and a few more that I don't know name. But, the Daihatsu Copen looks very much like mine(Should I say in reverse? Mine resembles Daihatsu Copen?) Anyway, I did not know Daihatsu Copen before I saw this post. The steering system was my major focus and starting point of this MOC. Prototype of it was built in summer(or autumn) of 2010. At that time, it was big and clumsy. Suddenly in Jan 2011, the idea of 5 double bevel stroke my head and I built this MOC in 2 months. Structure and detail was finalized near the end of Feb 2011 but I waited a few weeks more for color parts to arrive. The seat function and outline curves were satisfactory too. I tried to unify the color where it's possible.(For example, I used all the axles in black) It's sad that some special part does not come in black color.(As seen in the bottom photo) Color tuning in Red was not planned from the beginning and was done near the end of Feb so tuning is not perfect. (there are some pieces that could have been replaced by Red) I hope you would enjoy my City Hunter Jaeho Jung sunsky @ www.BrickInside.com sunmint1 @ YouTube sunskyTechnic @ Flickr sunsky @ brickshelf sunsky @ eurobricks Edited April 3, 2011 by sunsky Quote
