LDD MOCs in the Pirate Forum

I will be honest, seeing all of the LDD MOCs annoys me. I do try to not be annoyed by this.

However, I am more annoyed seeing posts about people's blatant dislike of LDD Mocs.

As I've told another member of this forum, MOCers who are able to build everything with real bricks (this includes me) need to be reminded that not everyone can afford the time, space, and funds to build MOCs out of actual bricks. Some people hope to build what they make in their computer into actual bricks. The best example I can think of is Zcerberus. (I truly hope he does not mind me using him as an example.) He frequently used MLCAD to build his MOCs and post these MLCAD Mocs in the pirate forum. Z now builds with real bricks and is now arguably one of the best builders in the pirate forum. I do want to frustrate LDD builders and do not wish to discredit their ability using a computer instead of real bricks who may be able to build MOCs like Z.

In my opinion,

If the Pirate Staff is going to continue to allow LDD MOCs to be posted in the Pirate Forum,

then I would ask for all members to be more considerate to the "LDD MOCers",

and I would ask LDD MOCers to continue to mention LDD in the topic title or subtitle.

If the Pirate Staff is not going to allow LDD MOCs to be posted in the Pirate Forum,

I would still ask all members to be more considerate to the "LDD MOCers",

and I would ask the "LDD MOCers" to post in the LDD Forum.

Even at im one of those who uses LDD (Usually making Lego sets now days), i dont like LDD MOC`s either very much, but i understand peapole who have been forced to use it. Im one of those who havent many bricks for making large MOC`s, but i have made some smaller ones and hope at i can present them in the summer when i can take better pictures. And i really hope at the others who have large amount of bricks, wouldnt be so rude to LDD MOC`ers, because we all have one thing wich keeps us together. The passion of Lego!

I have no other choice than to use LDD to build my ships. I don't have crud worth ship hulls because I was never really into the theme until too late.

Another reason why I use LDD is because I don't own a camera. I have camera built into my computer, but its quality really isn't the best.

I'm going to be honest and say that I too (belive it or not) can get feed up with LDD MOCs - they are simply not as alive as physcial models taken with a camera. I personally use LDD as a sketching tool and as preparation stage for physcial bricks, and I encorage everyone to try LDD from that perspective.

I think part of the problem is also that many kids can easily start with LDD (no investment, just download), and after a few hours of play, they want to show the world what they did. This is natural, and understandable, but perhaps not on an AFOL forums such as EB. This is something the Mods of each of the theme forums here at EB have to look out for.

Anyway, about posting in which forum. When the LDD forum started last year, we decided that MOCs should be posted in each theme, because you might want to get feedback and critique also if you design in LDD, and you get that best where the gurus hang out (Pirates, Technics, Town, SW etc). Only LDD MOCs with downloadable LXF-files or MOCs where you have technical questions should be posted in the LDD forum.
