Solscud007 Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I saw this on Facebook. If it has been posted, them please mods close and lock this thread. http://www.feeldesain.com/feel/pentax-lego-style-optio-nb1000.html I find it interesting but slightly a distraction. I wouldnt not want the lego pieces to fall off and I would be constantly paranoid that I would lose pieces. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Well it'll certainly take better pictures than previous LEGO (ish) cameras. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 It's not actually LEGO-compatible. I have some blocks of the brand they mention, and they're much tinier than LEGO bricks (one 1x1 brick is half the length and width of a 1x1 LEGO brick. The cameras from Digiblue have an official LEGO license and are (to my knowledge) fully LEGO-compatible. However, I'm not sure about how good they are as electronics (they seem very simple and geared towards kids, without the various useful options of mainstream digital camera brands). I believe the MP3 players are also at the same scale. The larger electronics like boom boxes, needless to say, are not LEGO compatible, although it's a testament to their design that they do stack. That's too bad. As for the Digital Blue cameras, they're 3 megapixel cameras with fixed lenses as compared to the diablock-compatible camera which is made by Pentax with 14.1 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, and capability to shoot 720p HD video. (in other words, the diablock-camera is in a league of its own compared to the Digital Blue LEGO ones) Quote
Solscud007 Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 Compromises will be made. I know have someone make a Diablock to lego adapter cover plate. So it snaps onto the diablock pegs but the other side will be lego sized pegs. Quote
Modulex Guy Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 This camera is actually meant for Kawada (Diablock) NanoBlock products. The bricks are much smaller than LEGO and Even smaller than Modulex. There is no compatibility whatsoever with LEGO. Quote
