thewatchman Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 hey again people, kinda curious about the various tree building techniques used by different people. i dislike the tree design on the modular fire station but my own attempts have failed horribly. so lets share and see whos technique reigns superior. Peppermint_M Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I love playing with greenery. I have a few methods, I'll post thumbnails of the best examples as they are not town MOCs The first two are more basic designs and the final one has a lot of techniques I had been playing with. I can clarify anything the photos don't indicate. Quote
starwarsfanatic Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I use the pre-existing tree parts, or occasionally two large palm-leaves found in the Pirates sets on top of about five or six brown 1x1 round bricks. Quote
gotoAndLego Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) i dislike the tree design on the modular fire station but my own attempts have failed horribly... I agree about that one, but the trees in Medieval Market Village and Log Cabin are good. Edited March 29, 2011 by gotoAndLego Quote
flashfire Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Hey Vassal. I'm new on here but I've been on other sites for a while. Classic-Castle had an article on building trees and environments. It has a bunch of other examples. Here's the link: http://www.classic-castle.com/howto/articles/Foliage.html Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Try Youtube. My Trees are a little complex for your first ones. Here are some videos I found: Markets tree instructions: Creater Video: Or try using Lego.coms Instructions just search the set with the tree you want and you can get at the instructions (for free). Hope I Helped You! Quote
quy Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I like using Studs Not On Top techniques with hinges and earlings/travis bricks to create the trunk, covering with brown tiles/plates and maybe slopes. Depending on the style of the tree, numerous branches can be added to the side, and then leaves or plates can be added (studs on top) to the branches. (see this for an example). Quote
