RubeusHagrid Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I've just got back from the LDC Manchester and they had this set of minifigures on the BAM stand, it contains a policeman in the new shirt, a space policeman (I think) and a female with new torso and head. It was £7 though, the other figures they have are £2 each. I was going to open a load up and secrete the female minifigs in a PAB bag (it is sold by weight, not in cups) but they are taped. On the subject, last time I was there they only had square glasses, silver glasses and 'scowl' faces, construction, police and checked torsos and black legs, but today however, they had railway hi-viz, hoodie and SHIP CAPTAIN!! This hasn't been in a set since 2007 and it goes for a pretty penny on Bricklink. There was a hed I haven't seen before, and the new robber one from this year's police sets. They don't include hairpieces though, although they do have construction hats in red in the PAB, (which hasn't improved since my last visit) Does anyone know when they update the PAB, as I would be overjoyed if the ship captain torso was added to the online one? (the torso is in this year's harbour set though) Anyone able to shed any light on that female minifigure? (Sorry for the bad photography) Quote
Duke Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Here is the torso on bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=973pb638c01 1 set in 2010 it seems. £7 is a lot to pay for a BAM box given that they are £3.50 in a LEGO store and you can obviously chose your own parts. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 The space suit is the Blacktron torso from the Vintage Minifig collections, I've seen that at LLC's BaMs as well. All three of the 'figs are mismatched, but the lady's orange torso I also saw at the LLC BaMs, and she looks to have a non-gender-specific face and Irina Spalko hair. Quote

Thanks I wish there was a real Lego Store around here. Are they really £3.50 for 3 minifigs I wish there was a real Lego Store around here even more now! I knew about the hair, but that's interesting about the torsos, they seem to be Chinese plastic ones (numbers under arms, and light legs) Anyone know when online PAB should be updated? I remember last year they added a whole lot of Atlantis stuff, but I don't remember when it was. Thanks I forgot to mention, you might not be able to see due to my abysmal photography (I choose to spend my money and time on Lego, not cameras and photography lessons!) The ship captain torso is my picture! Quote

Piranha Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 (edited) Very cool at first I thought it was another one of these but then read on. I would say this is average, I greatly prefer the Costa Mesa one The price is astronomical now considering just last week they were listed for $100-200. I wish my LEGO store got something like those, all we got when they had the grand opening was a brickbuilt fish. Edited March 27, 2011 by Macoco Quote

Yes, they are mismatched, I've just noticed the blacktron guy has atlantis legs. Quote
Aanchir Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Anyone know when online PAB should be updated? I remember last year they added a whole lot of Atlantis stuff, but I don't remember when it was. Next online PAB update should be in April, same time as the LDD DesignByMe palette update and the introduction of the DesignByMe-based "Hero Recon Team" promotion. Quote

Aanchir Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Sorry for being annoying () but do you know when in April? A LEGO store calendar for April indicated that the Hero Factory "Hero Recon Team" program by LEGO DesignByMe would launch on April 4th. So I would wager that all the relevant DesignByMe and Pick-A-Brick updates will happen around that time. Shouldn't be too long a wait, although it might be a good idea to check if there's any parts in the current Pick-A-Brick selection that you want in case parts get removed in the update. Quote

The only parts I'm really interested in are minifigure parts, and they'll b cheap on BL right after they got removed, IF they get removed. I really want more civilian and female and different minifigure parts. Quote

I really want more civilian and female and different minifigure parts. I kind of agree. I'm not an online Pick-A-Brick user myself, but I am an LDD user, and it'd be nice if there were more than one female minifigure head available in DesignByMe mode (which has about the same parts selection as Pick-A-Brick). Main reason I like DesignByMe mode isn't for the opportunity to purchase sets, but rather because a limited parts pool tests my creativity. That, and it's nice to be able to put finished MOCs on the DbM gallery (or it would if I had that many finished MOCs... =P ). Quote
Nakara Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I saw a Harry Potter Filch torso in my BAM selection. I made sure I picked one up just to see how it would look with a top hat. Quote
