Bricktrain Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 Iv just been looking up some pneumatic parts and am wondering what's the difference between the White and blue air tank or which is the best, One is white, the other is blue, which is best depends on which colour suits your model best, they are functionally the same. Where's the best place to buy pneumatic parts like this? Lego education is probably the cheapest, they will only have white though. Bricklink will be the other source, blue are getting expensive as they are currently not available in sets. Maybe I should list some of mine Quote

dhc6twinotter Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Unless you run across really cheap auctions on ebay, Lego Education is probably the best place to buy pneumatic parts. They have a new pneumatic parts pack that comes with a small compressor, large compressor, 2 cylinders, 2 valves, and some hoses. All in Yellow. Price was about $25 USD. These are the best prices I've found, and I plan on ordering one or two of these packs sometime this week. Lego Education also sells the white air tanks. They are $15 USD and come in a pack of two. dhc6twinotter Posted March 22, 2011 Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Here is the link to the pneumatic parts pack: http://www.legoeducation.us/store/detail.aspx?KeyWords=pneumatic&searchtype=0&sport=3&by=20&c=0&t=0&l=0&ID=2020 And the air tanks: http://www.legoeducation.us/store/detail.aspx?KeyWords=pneumatic&searchtype=0&sport=3&by=20&c=0&t=0&l=0&ID=1750 Apparently, I was wrong about the pneumatic parts pack coming with T connectors. It seems kinda stupid to have a parts pack without them, but I guess you would have to buy them separately. Original post edited to correct this. Daniel Edited March 23, 2011 by dhc6twinotter Quote

allanp Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Personally I mostly don't use air tanks with a compressor as when the pressure drops, it takes to build up again resulting in an inconsistant supply of air. I prefere to have a pressure regulator (quite easy to build) so that there is constant high pressure (POWER!!!!) and no waiting for air tanks to fill. Air tanks are great for manually pumped pneumatics. Quote
