Lego NXT 8-legged Walking Robot with shooting function.

Core elements include one NXT brick, three servo motors, one ultrasonic sensor, one light sensor, one sound sensor and ten shooting units.

Robot detects obstacle with ultrasonic sensor and determines whether to fire or evade based on width of obstacle. Programming platform is Robotc 2.25.

Special thanks for Xander's supports in Robotc!

This is very nice! The Bionicle figures don't stand a chance against the awesome firepower of 10 Technic Competition Arrows!

The Mech Wanzer looks a bit like a giant Hermit Crab. Do you know how much it weighs?

I myself didn't realize this! Thanks for pointing out

Some cocount crab can be around 10kg heavy and destroy a 100L rubbish bin easily with its powerful claws, but I don't know exactly how much this giant Hermit Crab weigh.

Wow!

Nice firing mechanism. :classic:

Thanks for your comment

The idea of the firing mechanism is based on concept of rotary magazine.

Do you can post an instruction of the magazine and its loading mechanism?

As I am no LDD expert, I took a few photos to illustrate the structure of the shooting function:

The shooting units are linked by track and formed a enclosed chain.

The chain will be driven by NXT servo-motor.

As chain rotates, shooting units will be triggered one by one.

Hopefully it is getting clear for you.
