adello25 Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) I bought 7641 City Corner set and I really liked it! However, I felt everything was too small. I am in the middle of doing an MOC Pizzeria using the same color and style. I also wanted to make a bigger bus for the Lego world. I increased the width to 8 wide, and increase the length by 4 (from 24 to 28) however, once I build it with real bricks I may decide to make it longer, need to see how it looks. I was also thinking of making it a different color but chose to stick with the yellow for now. Any-hoo, check out the picture's below. all comments welcome! Just one note, I know it looks like there is a few pieces of windows missing, LDD doesn't have all the pieces available for me to use Edited March 18, 2011 by adello25 Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Not bad, I hope it's a W.I.P., those mirrors need a little work, but it's not a bad 8 wide redesign of the city corner bus. I might have selected large wheels for a heavier looking bus, but anyway not bad and keep on LDDing 'adello25' ! Quote
Fuzzylegobricks Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Nice! And like LT said the mirrors could use work. The bus looks a little too blocky to me. Otherwise it is great! Quote
adello25 Posted March 19, 2011 Author Posted March 19, 2011 Thanks guys! Yea I did it at work in about an hour. But you both are right, I was not crazy about the mirrors but just put something there for the moment. And blocky is that same thing I thought too. Gotta put more thought into it! haha Quote
MrB74 Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 For a bigger bus, maybe it needs a second set of rear wheels...? Quote
Seluryar Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 adello25, the missing pieces can be found in universe mode Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 I'm not a big fan of 8 wide studs, but this looks nice. I hope it fits perfectly in your city layout! Quote
Out of Sight Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 You need to lenghten the rear overhang of the bus to make a proportional looking bus. (distance from the rear bumper to the rear wheel). The original bus design that came with the set is kinda weird having an unusually longer front than rear overhang. For details you could replicate the air condtioner unit usually seen on some city buses and lower the whole ground clearance of the bus by one plate, and add plates around around the sides and under each door, to give an impression of a modern low-floored city bus.
