Vincent Kessels Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 V-LV-51D My design for a 6-wide 4 seater Red Cabriolet, which can actually accommodate 3 minifigs. It is inspired by the red car in the Police Chase (#3648). Part of the challenge was to create opening bonnet, boot and doors while still be able to leave room for 3 minifigs. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Well your digital creation pulled it off, three figures into a six wide....finally a realistic wide body car ! But now build it for real 'Vincent' - that would be AWESOME if you did ! Keep on designing ! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Very nice LDD design Vincent, the fact that you were able to create a decently-sized minifig-scale car that can accommodate three passengers and has opening hood and doors is really an impressive feat! Now all we need to see is the real brickbuild version of this one. Great job! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted April 15, 2011 Author Posted April 15, 2011 Ok, here is the brick build version. Red Cabrio 7 by Vincent Kessels, on Flickr Red Cabrio 8 by Vincent Kessels, on Flickr Red Cabrio 9 by Vincent Kessels, on Flickr There are some minor changes compared to the LDD model due to the available parts in my collection. The front bumper is moved half a stud to the front, because it was locking the front wheel. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Very nice! Looks much even better in real bricks! The opening hood and rear compartment are really pretty neat details. Quote
Duke Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Great job! I always like seeing something which has been envisioned in LDD turned into a real tangible creation. Quote
henryhotspurs Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 WOW! Awesome car! Just the right size! Keep up the good work! Quote
brickyrob Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Nice work VK! Are you planning any more simular projects? Quote
