rjk1977 Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I'm started to build a pick-up truck , i like it to be 2x4 and shifted to 4x4 . Now i need a gearbox that in 2x4 mode the front wheels are not powered and just run along. i tried some ideas , but i think i'm thinking too difficult. many thanx Quote
allanp Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Try this: You don't really need the second driving ring, that's just if you also want the option of locking the central diff. Hope this helps. Quote
rjk1977 Posted March 13, 2011 Author Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) @ allenp thanx this looks great , only thing i have to shop at bricklink for this type of diff. And i think i will use the diff.lock aswell edit: whahaha found one , just start to build again Edited March 13, 2011 by rjk1977 Quote
allanp Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) That's great, glad I could help Edit: I wish I had looked at your brickshelf page sooner as I would have noticed that you have one of those diffs in your tow truck! Edited March 13, 2011 by allanp Quote

Just one concern tho so far, please don't think i'm knitpicking but I fear those two 8 tooth gears driving the diff are gonna a weak point given the huge power coming from two XL motors and Sariels very strong gearbox.
