Cardinal Brick Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The short answer at least 45m I've just come back from a diving holiday in the Red Sea but before I went I was given a Lego Atlantis diver keychain (sort of good luck charm idea) which I clipped to my kit on a daily bases. While I was out there I got the chance to start doing some technical diving and again decided to my diver along, I was somewhat aprehensive what the presure would do it him at that depth (my camera housing states it may warp at depth) but once we came back up from the last deepest dive of my course I discovered he was fine! So now at least one Atlantis minifig has dived the depth of the ocean, though we didn't find Atlantis. This got me wondering if anyone else has tried the same thing and if so how deep and what was the result? Quote

I think that was the whole point of the question in the first place. He mentioned warping of plastic at a certain depth in his post. Quote

DaveE No I didn't actually! Considering the deepest dive I've read about without a hard suit is 300m the diver stood up very well going to more than five times that depth Quote
blueandwhite Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 You would imagine that a minifig could withstand a lot more pressure than a human being so I imagine that they could sink pretty far. Also, remember that there is not a lot of surface area on a minifig. There are a number of organisms that can live a few miles below the surface so I imagine that a minifig could also withstand a life under the sea. Perhaps a more scientifically inclined member could give you a more precise answer. Quote
