Cpt. Dan Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) Here is a diorama I have been thinking about for a while and since it was raining today and boring, there wasn't a more perfect time to do this one... Quick story line behind it: Mon Calimarian senator is meeting wit Jedi officials on Mon Calimari on a shore line base. Mandalorian intel found out about this meeting and launched an attack with the sepratists. Enjoy! lightningtiger Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Great battle scene, but I'm having a hard time see it as a MOC ? May the brick be with you ! Quote
Lord Starkiller Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) This is not a MOC - My Own Creation, It is a Diarama, or a Vignatte or a.... Nope, its a Diarama. Still, Love your Assasin Droid! Edited March 7, 2011 by Lord Starkiller Quote
Brickdoctor Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 This is not a MOC - My Own Creation, It is a Diarama, or a Vignatte or a.... Nope, its a Diarama. Still, Love your Assasin Droid! Both Dios and Vigs can be MOCs. If it's not a Mod, stock set, or display, it's an MOC. He may have used stock sets, but the inclusion of the base makes it an MOC. Quote
BrickArtist Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Both Dios and Vigs can be MOCs. If it's not a Mod, stock set, or display, it's an MOC. He may have used stock sets, but the inclusion of the base makes it an MOC. They're confused because of the 'First MOC but is it cheating?' topic. Guys a MOC means you assembled legos in your own way to creat something representing another element. This is a MOC. The other one was just a Dio because it was real sets on sand, it was cool, but not a MOC. I like what you've done here-A little busy/random, but good. Quote

The other one was just a Dio because it was real sets on sand, it was cool, but not a MOC. I like what you've done here-A little busy/random, but good. That's correct. To properly define this all, the 'standard' definitions that can be used but are confusing when it comes to LEGO: The word diorama can either refer to a nineteenth century mobile theatre device, or, in modern usage, a three-dimensional full-size or miniature model, sometimes enclosed in a glass showcase for a museum. ...a vignette is a short impressionistic scene that focuses on one moment or gives a trenchant impression about a character, an idea, or a setting and sometimes an object. As compared to the common meaning among the LEGO community: Diorama or DioA large LEGO scene or a LEGO scene built on an irregular base. See also Bignette and contrast with Vignette. Vignette or VigA small LEGO scene, usually built on a base 8 studs long by 8 studs wide. Contrast with Bignette and Diorama. And the definition of MOC is: MOCMy Own Creation. Any LEGO creation designed and built by a LEGO fan without instructions. The term 'MOC' includes all four definitions, but only provided that the model in question conforms to the definition of MOC. Hope I explained it well; back on topic. Quote
