davidmull Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Been looking at this huge crane lately and wondering what is peoples opinion on it,also is it fully rc?cant seem to find a review on it for such a large set,it seems to make huge money online too for some reason. thanks in advance. Quote
DLuders Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 (edited) I think that you are referring to the 8421 Mobile Crane. It has a motorized boom. Blakbird's Technicopedia has a nice comparison between the various Lego Technic crane sets. Brickset has 15 Reviews of the 8421. Edited March 6, 2011 by DLuders Quote
mostlytechnic Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 The 8241 is an awesome crane (have 2 myself!). There is nothing remote controlled on it - there's manual switches for the motor that extends the boom and lowers the line, and a manual pneumatic pump to raise the boom. Oh, and knobs on the back for steering and deploying the outriggers. Quote
backbone Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 Also look here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=339633 M_Longer did an awesome job: Modified set 8421 Mobile Crane. Motorized with PF system. PF XL for wheel drive, PF M for steering, PF M for superstructure functions. Pneumatic stabilizers, four pneumatic cylinders instead of two for lifting the crane boom, lights. See pics for details. Quote
