Seluryar Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 a few days ago, i had the urge to try and build something that did not require instructions. progress pics in order: first draft, wanted to make a bus out of this, but then realized i wouldnt know how to make the kind of doors i wanted seats added, was originally gonna keep the steering in the middle of the truck after trying to figure out that i dont know how to mount the steering wheel in cab in a way that it would control the steering of the wheels, i chose this spot to place the steering and here is how it is set up now, i am in no way finished with this yet, id like to add a non-functional engine behind the cab and then i need to secure the bed of the truck to the rear of the vehicle and add more of a grill to the front of the cab Quote
DLuders Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 I always find it interesting to follow the design "thinking" behind Lego Technic MOCs, as they are being built as "Works In Progress". Someone said that building in Lego Technic is like chess -- one has to think 5 moves ahead. For the front radiator grill, you could consider using old-style Lego Technic Bricks on their sides, so that the studs face outwards in a "Studs Not On Top" (SNOT) arrangement, then affix rows of 2412 "Tile, Modified 1 x 2 Grille" pieces to the protruding studs: Quote
