Omicron Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Ganondorf is the primary antagonist of the Legend of Zelda series. The fig is based on his appearance in the Twilight Princess. Reference (if it is really needed) :P *Armor modified by me *Hairpiece is Arealight and modified by me *Sword is BrickTW -Omi Quote
Baylego Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Excellent job! That Obi-Wan hair works surprisingly well for this minifigure, I would have never thought of that! Quote
JimBee Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 Nicely done, the beard and face print are a good combo for Ganondorf. The armor is also quite fitting. However, I feel that the orange is too bright and vibrant for the rest of the figure, especially if this is the TP version. Does the beard come in earth orange? If not, could/ would you paint it? Also, I think the hair is a little too voluminous for Ganondorf. Maybe if you painted the werewolf/ elf hairpiece from the Collectable Minifgures, it would look a little better. Especially since it has pointy ears (Ganon has point ears, right?). Just some friendly suggestions. I like the tribute, is it for the 30th anniversary of LoZ? Quote

Well the hair is custom made by Arealight, and it came in yellow, red, white, gray, and earth orange years ago. He had dooku hair (which would have been a better fii, but sadly none). Considering the rarity of these handmade pieces, I already felt bad cutting it down for the mouth to show. For now it will stay as is, until I find a better substitute for a darker orange hair. And the beard is attached to the hair, so if I trade it out for werewolf, the beard goes. Next best thing would be a decal, and I usually stray from waterslides. And yeah Ganondorf has regular ears, since he is a different race than Link. Ganon, since he is basically a pig, has pig ears. :P As for the LoZ anny, funny enough I didn't even think about it when I started my Zelda project. I seem to time these things out at the right time. Did the same for the Final Fantasy 20th anny when I started my FF project back in 07. :P -Omi Edited March 6, 2011 by Omicron Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted March 6, 2011 Posted March 6, 2011 That Arealight hair-beard piece is perfect for Ganondorf! (It's actually the first time I saw that piece). Pretty neat modification on the armor too. Quote
Omicron Posted March 6, 2011 Author Posted March 6, 2011 (It's actually the first time I saw that piece). Yeah it is one of his earlier works back when he handmade his items and sold them on BrickLink. You can see them on his flickr. Now that he is getting things done a different way, hopefully he will remake these. :) -Omi Quote
Aanchir Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 That CW face works perfectly for Ganondorf, IMO. I was kind of worried whether you could make a recognizable Ganondorf without his distinctive nose! Do you ever have plans to build any Legend of Zelda vignettes or full settings to accompany your custom minifigures? Quote

As for vignettes, I may make something for BrickFair, but no promises on that. -Omi Quote
