I am in the process of designing a train snowblower like the one shown below.

I'm going to use this for the blower, unless anyone has a better idea. The part I need help with is the housing for the blower, part with arrows by it. I plan on making it six wide, except for the blower. Any help is appreciated.

Some large plates / tiles with studs on the side and a bit of SNOT work would allow you to build a forward facing cover (left and right). A similar plate mounted with hinges would allow you to get the vertical slant above the blower. Note this should make it more then 6 wide, but less than 7. These can then be placed in front of a dark red macaroni pieces to give you the curve.

Of course if you allowed yourself the luxury of an 8 wide blower, you could also use the 4x4x6 cylinder parts in dark red from the old farm silos.

Just an idea - feel free to use / modify as you wish.

@Leg Godt Gud. I like that idea to use thos dish and radar pieces.

@roaming studio. The plate idea you have might work. When you say silo pieces, you mean from the recent farm?

Yea its a larger version of the dish I linked above http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=3961 but the 4x4x6? http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?q=30562 Not real sure how these would play into the design though :classic:

Not easily unless you went to 8 wide ;-)

But the plate idea might work with a bit of tinkering. Im not sure how well you would get the nice curved section unless you borrowed more from the Emerald Night boiler approach.

The approach of 4533 Snow Blower was more of a 'no side panel' idea

I have a design started. in LDD, but how do you post it on here? This is the first time I have ever used the Lego Digital Designer software.

I upload the .LXF file to Brickshelf www.brickshelf.com and then post a link here.

I dont know if others have another way, but thatswhat I do.
