An idea might be to use images of real construction sites with their vehicles and build them in Lego.

But a construction site could mean houses, roads or even bridges....which is it ?

This is Lego's own construction site from the advert. It's simple but would make a good canvas to start from.

This one looks good by JANico, there's quite a bit of action going on.

Here's another one with a big impressive feel to it.

That's all I could I find for Lego MOCs of construction sites.

I will load mine up once I get around to building it :classic:

The design of roadworks, building, civil structure will dictate which vehicles you need and the sort of materials that will be lying around. Personally I favour construction sites where the work is in the early stages and it's mostly foundations and girders or wood frame. Although on a large site a mix of completed stages and bare frame looks good. There again, it can also look good when a crew is knocking down a construction rather than building it.

If I ever get my hands on the recent crawler crane I plan on refitting it witha wrecking ball. Destruction is fun.

How did they manage to build the fence? I've got about 8 of those lattice bricks I could use.

The second image looks like something I built a while ago.

These two MOCs were made by Lego Tom from flickr

At a guess I would say the uprights are 1x1 bricks or round bricks with plates with clips to hold the lattice. I wish you could buy those Tan Burps.

I've attempted to build some of my own more realistic look scaffolding for building sites. Hopefully this gives you some inspiration.

Awesome!  As soon as I realized those were pirates, I knew what it was.
