Legostein Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 (edited) Hello everybody, Like TazManiac in his topic 2 weeks ago, I began planning a small scene with the new Gorilla minifigure acting as King Kong some time ago. After planning the Empire State Building in micro acrhitectural style and ordering tan bricks for it, the project was finished a day after TazManiac posted his fantastic vignette. I didn't want to post mine at all as I respect the community, but he encouraged me to do so. Thank you for the opportunity and here is another version of King Kong in New York! The real work was an accurate version of the Empire State Building as I was not too fond of the official one. A small biplane complete with guns and a steering wheel as rotor joins the scene. Click here for instructions. Thanks again for accepting another vignette with similar content. Cheers, ~ Christopher Edited February 27, 2011 by Legostein Quote
prateek Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Great job! I really love your mini plane, and the Empire State Building looks so much better than the official one Quote
Pandora Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This MOC appeals to me as I like the smooth lines of the building - clearly identifiable as the Empire State Building, and the little plane is both really cute but detailed. Surely there's no reason to feel bad about posting if you've already put all the hard work in? Loads of people have said they want the "Godzilla" collectable mini-fig to do a "Godzilla vs King Kong" vignette so I'm sure there'll be loads of those around in time, too; and that's no bad thing, 'cos it's always nice to see other people's ways of doing things. Thanks for sharing, I liked seeing it! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 An excellent scene Legostein! What really elevates this above the other similar King Kong vigs is the appropriate inclusion of the biplane on the scene. And yeah I agree your mini-Empire State is much better than the official one. Great job as always! Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 'Legostein' that is too AWESOME, the Empire State is fantastic and the bi-plane fighter is excellent......keep on monkeying around 'Legostein' ! Quote
Commander Laquiet Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Lovely work! I like the ESB - really nice architectural work there. Your little biplane is also very nice. You really are a master of the mini model! Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 That is a very nice vignet, but the little biplane is brilliant. I might use it as a toy plane, if you don't mind. Quote
Professor Trelawney Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Really awesome MOC legostein! The building is fantastic, and the mini plane and the Gorilla Minifig are just Amazing! King-Kong! Quote
Zorbas Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 A very beautiful work (as usual) Christopher! The Empire State Building looks great and the biplane is a total success. I'll be definitely waiting for a new mini scene with the release of the Godzilla costume. Quote
Legostein Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Hello again! Thank you very much for the nice comments! I appreciate it that you enjoy different interpretations of a scene from different builders. For all the fans of the little biplane, here are the instructions. Although you probably would not have needed them. Have a great sunday everyone! Christopher Quote
dr_spock Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 Good job. Love that little biplane. It really adds character to the scene. Quote
Legostein Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 Thank you! It's these details that are most fun while building a scene. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
