Commodore Hornbricker Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 The HMS Death is a small two masted Bomb Ketch. She is close to completion and has a sister ship. You can see that the masts are set back rather far on these types of ships. They were not great saliors but they could really pack a very specialized type of wallop! Enjoy Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Looks quite good already, I like the colour scheme! Be careful not to bend the line too hard along the side now it looks a bit V shaped on the side. Quote
Admiral Croissant Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I like the colourscheme, the name and the figurehead of this ship Perhaps some headrails and tan or brown decks can improve the ship but outside of that I think it's good. It's certainly an original choice to build a bomd ketch. Good to have one on the forum Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Not the infamous bomb ketch! Welcome back Commodore, spectacular comeback I must say! We don't see many bomb ketches on the forum, perhaps this is the first one! The colours look great and her shape looks good too. I'm only wondering if it wasn't better to use a wide hull? I have the feeling the ship might capsize by the recoil of these enormous howitzers.. Otherwise it's a great build already! I'll follow the progress closely. Good luck Commodore! Quote
Dr. Steve Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 I really like the colors you have picked. Can't wait to see the finished product. I like the colourscheme, the name and the figurehead of this ship Perhaps some headrails and tan or brown decks can improve the ship but outside of that I think it's good. I have always liked using the reddish brown tiles for decking, it might look nice with the tan. Quote
______ Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Wow, I want to make one now, yours is superb and also it is nice to see someone make a different type of ship. Quote
