rriggs Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Based on the city bus from City Corner and built only using parts from two regular city buses. Wanted to keep the same look and feel without making it too tall. Just about gets away with although the backend is a little untidy! Cheers Rog Quote
AwesomeTaylor Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I think it works well, although personally I would have replaced the white with yellow to make it look a little cleaner. the top deck looks great with the class all around though! Quote
Zorbas Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Very nice work rriggs. It certainly has the same feel with the original city bus and the additional deck is succesfully built making the overall appearance of the bus look smooth. If you ask me, I would change the yellow bricks just under the second deck with white in order to have a white stripe "running" around the bus. It's a good trick to break the "tallness" if you ever feel that it's taller than you wanted. Quote
gcanik Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Love the overall design and how you seamlessly integrated the upper deck onto the lower deck. I do agree with some of the other post though about the white bricks, I think you need to replace those with yellow and then add a stripe in between the two decks, maybe in white or black. Don't know if you could do it in a solid brick thickness but maybe even just a plate thickness around for the stipe would look good. Excellent job! Quote
Jargo Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Looks good. Unfortunately those particular dors are just a bit too tall. A problem with the original single deck bus and coach. I suppose you could cheat and put a 1x4 sticker across the top to bring the height down for aesthetic purposes. And I agree that the white doesn't really work but overall it's a neat looking build. Hope there's no low bridges on it's route around your town/city. Quote
Mrlegoninja Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Love the design, although the white bricks should be removed and yellow bricks should be put in. Just my thoughts. Quote
prateek Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Looks good. As for comments/critiques, I'd say follow Zorbas's advice. Quote
The Yellow Brick Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 A double decker bus. Now thats and original idea. The bus looks great, but my only concern is the colour of the bricks around the middle needs to be fixed. Zorbas idea is great and you should most certainly do it. Quote
rriggs Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Thanks for all the feedback. I completely agree about the White. It's the result of a couple of things: 1. I was trying to match the single decker colour scheme. It works much better on the other side where the doors don't intrude on the stripe. 2. I was solely using the parts from two city buses and ran out of yellow bricks! I'm going to dig out my spare parts and tweak this week now that I am happy with the proportions. Cheers Rog Quote
lightningtiger Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Excellent design 'rriggs', true....fix the white/yellow issue and you'll have an AWESOME creation there. Now a question, how do you place or change your minifigs on the lower deck of the bus ? Anyway, great work and Brick On 'rriggs' ! Quote
rriggs Posted February 20, 2011 Author Posted February 20, 2011 Now a question, how do you place or change your minifigs on the lower deck of the bus ? The top floor lifts off as does the roof of the top floor. The front section where the driver sits doesn't lift off but you can seat him via the front door anyway. Cheers Rog Quote

Cheers Rog I was just about to ask that, good job, the white does look a bit odd but I don't really mind it With all these buses we need a proper bus station Quote
LEGO Guy Bri Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Great MOC rrigs Great design but, have to agree with Zorbas on the white bricks, definitely yellow. Easy fix though. Great job, anyways! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Pretty neat idea of for a double-deck bus rriggs! Nice way to combine two City Corner buses. It would sure look great of you fill it up with the passengers. Good job! Quote
dr_spock Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Nice work. The white looks out of place. Alternatively cover the white with ad signs. Quote
