Brickus Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Where I live, it has been raining almost constantly for two months and today I noticed a build up of mould on my shelves where I display my Lego sets. My question is can mould damage Lego, and what can I do to prevent mould from building back up? I apologise if there is already a topic about this particular subject. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 If you are that worried clean off the mould. That's the easiest solution. Quote
FelixTheCat Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'd be more concerned about your house than your lego. it takes alot to destroy lego plastic but if your open shelves are going mouldy imagine what's happening in some of the more hidden corners of your house. Quote
davee123 Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I'm not sure if mold will actually hurt the LEGO. It'll hurt LEGO *boxes*, and it'll be a pain to clean for sure. I'd recommend a dehumidifier. DaveE Quote
dr_spock Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I don't think mould will harm ABS plastic but depending on the type it might not be good for humans. Quote
