Henchmen4Hire Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 I was improving the engines on my space police fighter and figured out a nifty way to make a turbine/engine/nacelle whatever you want it to be. Unfortunately LDD doesn't let me connect the end with pins, but in theory, those pins should slide right into the middle turbine, right? Could someone build this and post a picture? Quote
Brickdoctor Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 LDD won't let you assemble it because the pins will be in constant compression in that assembly, which counts as an illegal LDD connection. In real life, it would attach, but the half-plate lip between halves of the pin would prevent the cone from sitting flush against the turbine. Quote
Ralph_S Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) It does work quite nicely. I did something very similar a few years ago for an external fuel tank. However, I used technic half pins. The lips on those are thinner, so the gap between the cone and the cylinder is narrower. Henchmen4Hire Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Sweeeet, thanks Ralph! I don't mind the gap, good to know the half pins work better though. Quote
