L@go Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) I decided to submit an entry to the Be My Brickentine contest over at Flickr and Mocpages. I've never entered a Lego contest before, but only men were allowed to enter (the male chauvinist pig in me really liked that) and I thought I had a nice idea for an entry so I gave it a go. I designed the basic layout of the vignette in MLCad first, then ordered the bricks via BrickLink and put it together. It has been on my living room table for a few days now, and I finally got around to taking some pictures today - after all, the deadline for the contest is Monday (Valentine's Day). So here it is: John and Mary are going steady, and to celebrate Valentine's Day John decided to give her some nice presents: Some flowers, a box of chocolates... and himself in a black thong. Here's Mary's immediate reaction. Surprise! Blushing, are we? She wasn't expecting this when she came home from work. John does seem quite pleased with himself, though. Maybe it's because he knows that Mary loves those chocolates that come in the sand green box... ...or maybe it's because he has some kinky plans for later. What's that under the bed? And this is what eventually happened while I tried to photograph this scene. It's not entirely unlikely that this could happen in real life if such a scene took place, so I decided to snap a shot of that as well. Hope you like it. It's my first vignette, but I had fun building it and it might not be the last :) although next up from me will be two new modular buildings. Just need a few more bricks that are currently on their way... EDIT: Flickr gallery - Brickshelf gallery (when public). Edited February 13, 2011 by L@go Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Haha, a very entertaining vignette L@go! The expression on both the John and Mary are priceless! Nice technique too on the candles, what are those yellow pieces? Well done and best of luck in the contest! Quote

dr_spock Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Nice job on the vignette. I would have covered his groin area with the flower petals. Quote
L@go Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Nice technique too on the candles, what are those yellow pieces? Looks like cut tubing. Either pneumatic or flex. Good question, and correct answer. It's flex tubing (or what BrickLink calls Hose, Rigid 3mm D). An even better solution could have been to skip the red cones entirely, and just use red flex tube with a piece of yellow string sticking out. I'll try that another time. I would have covered his groin area with the flower petals. I guess you're just more modest than John. He didn't feel the need to cover up :) Thanks for the nice compliments, all of you! Quote
