Legostein Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) Hello! It's my pleasure to present another vehicle of the space miniaturization series to you today. This time it's the M:Tron Mega Core Magnetizer (set 6989). Now that it's minimized it's only a Mini Core Magnetizer I guess. The wheels are very old one-piece plate-and-wheel parts, but I was very happy to include these old pieces. Furthermore it comes complete with the loading crane and two storage containers. >>> Click here for all images and building instructions. <<< That's all for now. Thank you for your time and interest. See you around! ~ Christopher -------------------- Space Miniaturization Quick Links: -------------------- Edited February 12, 2011 by Legostein Quote
Baylego Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Cool! I like how you utilized the older pieces. Quote
brickmack Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Nice. It looks a lot like the full size original version. Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Great job on miniaturizing the trans-lime green cockpit with that assembly, and those wheels look prefect for the Magnetizer at that scale. It's also nice to see that even the crane functions even in this mini-scale. Impressive work once again Legostein! Quote

Plastemaurer Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Very nice work, Legostein. I really like how you managed to implement every important aspect of the MCM: the big cockpit, crane function, containers, even the loading bay for the small vehicles. Great work. PM Quote
Legostein Posted February 13, 2011 Author Posted February 13, 2011 Hello! Thank you for your interest and praises! I really enjoy this little space set miniaturization series. Not all sets do have the potential to be minimized however. But for those where it works, I'll be happy to present you some more soon. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Artanis I Posted February 13, 2011 Posted February 13, 2011 Perfect! I love it. The crane works too, well done! Quote
Legostein Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Thank you. I try to add as many original and moving details as possible. See you around, ~ Christopher Quote
filospinato Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Love this! Very nice! The MCM was the one set for which I saved all of my pennies when I was 12, I still have it, one of my all time favorites. Quote
Giovanne Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Amazing! And very accurate! Your mini MOCs are just amazing and very similiar to the original ones. Could you make a miniaturized version of 6980 or 6985? Quote
Legostein Posted February 19, 2011 Author Posted February 19, 2011 Hello! Thank you once again. I am glad to contribute to the community. Could you make a miniaturized version of 6980 or 6985? Yes, I am aware of the larger cruisers. Minimizing an official set is not as easy as it might look like. Shrinking down lego shapes is more difficult than to shrink down Scifi of real-life stuff because of the already small scale of LEGO® sets. But I really want to make them, too, so finally I will be able to prsent something to you. Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
Zyniker Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) As much as I think the old Space themes were awefully designed, you've done an extraordinary job catching all the model's details. Very well done. Edited May 14, 2011 by Zyniker Quote
Delta62 Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Most impressive work again Legostein. I love the moving crane feature. It must be hard adding moving parts to a mini model. Quote
