Some Brick Link orders will help a lot . At the moment it's a first impression. The whole green stuff will surely change if I continue the build. I will also try to use the section under the roof for some kind of sleeping chamber. Critics, tips, hints and comments are welcome. Oh, the baseplate will get a cleaning before it's finished. Enjoy. Geertos13 Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Ouah, Looks Great so far The Outside is very nice with all those plants around it, In my opinion there is no need for changing that. Maybe that tree in the Back could get some extra designing work because it looks a bit plain. From the inside, the House, as you have said, needs some work indeed. It's too plain but I'm sure you'll fix that The thing that bugs me a bit, is the Roof. It is an original idea, but the upper part of the front wall has too many gasps in it to look realistic. These 1x1 cones Look okay together, but the void that they create isn't appropriate. If I might suggest something, If I were you, I would continue the wall normaly in brown, and with slopes on the sides. That would make it fairly more appealing to the eye and easier to build if you ask me. I've always loved that Elf Minifigure, so there's nothing to improve there. I would absolutly love to have an animal or two here and there ; a cow or a horse would look great, but just a rat on the floor would also be satisfying. I'm Hopping to see this grow ut to a small masterpiece ! Quote

The bottom arches could be longer and include the arch windows to carry the wood theme down to the stonework some more. Perhaps some vines growing on the walls would improve the organic integration of the house into its environment too. Interesting to see where this will head. Quote

A larger interior would be nice too. I tried to use brown cheese slopes, but they don't fill the gaps as I whished. The tree on the other hand is some kind of placeholder. My intention was that he is the only one left (only one official Lego elf) and he took care of an abandoned house in the woods. Also i love that brickbuild animal, its so cute I hope at the elf wont be hunting on that poor animal Also, where is the bed? Im sure elfs have to sleep somehow too isnt that right? Good job overall, i love the overall look and the idea at you made the second floor as some kinda of storing area. The second floor looks pretty nice too and that Ladder is lovely That creature looks a bit like a rabbit.. Or is it a misshapen chicken ? In anycase it surely looks super cute ! Quote

I don't know at the moment but I'm thinking about it. The creature started out as a rabbit but for the lack of parts it turned out like this. Oh and btw I decided that it is a pet not prey I received a Bricklink order today and worked a bit on the MOC. Here are the results. Enjoy. I love the balcony out back and all of the foliage. When I build a roof to sit loosly on slopes or even the cones you started with I try to make it 2 studs wider than you did. That way it has a slight overhang in the front and the back. The overhang is not only realistic but will hide any gaps between the wall and the roof and has a very nice aesthetic appeal. If you have the available round browns to do it give it a try and see what you think. Thank you for sharing your work with us! Quote
