Hi all,

I need some help regarding Power functions

(Correct me where i'm wrong)

As far as i can tell, you need a controller, battery box, motor and reciever.

so i presume you connect the reciever to the battery box and the motor to the reciever?

so if i want to add more than 1 motor per reciever i just plug it in to the same reciever? also if i want to add more functions i need more recievers/controllers?

so say i want to use two functions (forward reverse, left right) controlled seperately i would need

battery box x 1

reciever x 2

controller x 1

+ motors as required

now can 1 controller only operate 2 functions or 4?

how much torque do the medium motors produce?

One receiver can drive two motors, so two functions. If you want four functions, you need two receivers. One controller can be used with one receiver at a time, there is a small switch on the controller which let you control which receiver you want to operate. So if you have two receivers, then you can control them with one controller, by switching the channel (the way the buldozer did I think) or you can use two controllers, and then you can control all the functions at the same time (the way 8043 does). There are four available channels which can be used by the communication between the controllers and receivers, so you can have a maximum of four controllers and four receivers, i.e. eight independent functions in your model, if you want remote control.

so for forward reverse and steering i just need 1 reciever? cool i can then add recievrs/controllers as and when required.

ALternatively you can also have a look at Philo' Hompage. Which gives you quite an academical insight into the Power Function component.

Starting from the innards to the torque and rpm figures under different operational conditions.

btw: @ Anio: sorry for my ignorance but what ist the S******r?

Actually it was a private joke to Cavegod. :)

I let him explain, cause I do not know if I'm allowed to tell. :)

edit : now that Cavegod has presented his project in the SW forum, I can explain what does S******r mean : Sandcrawler.
