M_longer Posted February 12, 2011 Posted February 12, 2011 Hello, M_longer (or M1Longer, whatever) here, since you have made the presentation topic for me, I think you can describe all the functions for me. Thanks in advance! M_longer, one of the Eurobricks members. Ok, I'm glad that you like this crane, but I have only one, but in my opinion very important question: DLuders, why are you doing it again? I'm asking, because I do not see sense in posting MOCs of other EuroBricks member? It took me few months to build this crane (especially gathering those lattice parts in proper quantity took a lot of time). I also spent some time on taking pictures and filming this model. Making a proper description will also take some time. But this time it is not the problem, because you have only posted a movie. When my Liebherr R 944C Tunneling excavator appeared on EB, you have mixed some pictures in random order and some google-translated description of it. In my opinion, it wasted a lot of my work, because I did'nt had a chance to present it properly. Of course, I could make a description under your post, but what's the point of making my own topics with descriptions then? Maybe I should just upload some pictures of my bigger MOCs here, and just say : "hey look, I made this and this, now try to figure out how it works"? Quote
DLuders Posted February 12, 2011 Author Posted February 12, 2011 (edited) M_Longer, of course I don't want to pre-empt your MOC presentation. Please accept my apologies. Your YouTube video showed all of the functions, so I posted it. The Brickshelf pictures are finally moderated, so please explain how it works. I honestly don't know. Many folks don't log onto the LUGpol website (because they don't speak/read Polish). It is a special creation that deserves explanation by its creator -- you. And this is the reason why tomorrow a full presentation will appear, in english (I am aware that my english is not perfect, but it's better than reading a google translations, don't you think? :) ). Look for it at Town forum, because it is minifig scale model and it belongs to Town/City theme ;) Quote

Maybe I should just upload some pictures of my bigger MOCs here, and just say : "hey look, I made this and this, now try to figure out how it works"? Well said M_Longer. I also think it's a bit rude to post a topic about someone elses MOC. Given today's extremely high calibre of MOC's the presentation, descriptions and photo's are very important for a builder to be able to stand out. Not only that but we as admirers like to ask the builder questions or congratulate them, a hard thing to do when the builder has no idea his creation has become a topic and is unable to reply. While I applaud DLuders ability to trawl the net and copy/paste a URL, most of us probably also visit those sites and would see those creations should a builder choose not to create a topic here on Eurobricks. I'm glad a builder has finally said something, and seeing as you are actually here M_longer, congratulations on a kick ar$e MOC. Quote
Ultimario Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 I again like it when someone finds the MOCs so i don't have to turn over the entire internets. So i applaud DLuders for his efforts. But i guess those who regularly post their MOCs in Eurobricks could be let to post topics of their own MOCs. HOWEVER!! If you don't want your MOCs to be published, don't publish them on the internet before you make the topic everywhere you want to! Once they are in Youtube or Brickshelf they're out there and free to be linked to, how is anyone gong to know whether Eurobricks would be ignored or not by the builder, especially if they take a long time making any topics.
