SpyFlops Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Hey guys! This is my first MOC I've posted here: Enjoy. ~SpyFlops Quote
Mr.Brick Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Ooh, that looks pretty good! The minifig proportions work well on Mario as a game fig. Guess heads are bigger in both figures. I think he looks a bit grumpy and old, but the rest is very good! :D Planning to make some others? Quote

As for the head, if you have any suggestions for any other that may work, I'm all ears. Thanks for the comment! ~SpyFlops Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Nicely done custom minifig SpyFlops! It's easily recognizable as Mario. I also can't help but notice that we employ similar torso design customization technique using cut colored stickers. BTW, I think this topic would be better in the MCW subforum, where all custom minifig creations are posted. Thanks for sharing this anyway. Quote
bionicle factory Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) He loks a little grumpy. (Yesterday at target, I saw a live-action Mario movie, but they have guns ) Edited February 15, 2011 by bionicle factory Quote
Baylego Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Nice job! The way you assembled the vest is great! Are you planning to put a logo on his hat? Quote
Syn Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 now that's a Mario I would buy! I've seen so many that just look hideous but yours looks amazing! good work! Quote
Sulfurix Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Great custom Mario! Now all you need is a green hat and shirt and you can make Luigi. Quote
user Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 He loks a little grumpy. (Yesterday at target, I saw a live-action Mario movie, but they have guns ) I think you're talking about THE live action mario movie and there were no guns except Koopa's devo ray. Nobody has been stupid enough to make any others. But that's off-topic, this figure looks really nice, I like the fact that you used cut up stickers instead of decals and the finished project looks very clean unlike most customs. He does look a little grumpy but I guess it's a little more realistic since he's saved princess peach from bowser like over 9000 times. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 That looks great SpyFlops, you really nailed the cartoony look of those overalls. I agree though, the choice of head is a little off. This is the best alternative I can think of: Otherwise, great work, I look forward to seeing more from you. Quote
Lord Starkiller Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Maybe you could add a Decal 'M' to the Hat? Also, Love to see the Yoshi! Quote
jonwil Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Nice Mario fig. For Luigi you could do what they did in the live-action movie and give Luigi a green baseball cap (which does exist) Quote
Scorpiox Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Nice, though I do agree with TinyPiesRUs about the head. Good custom torso and I can't wait to see Yoshi! Quote
