Ok today I picked up my new 8265 front loader but I want to make the fully rc model with la steering,iv the file downloaded for full instructions so all I need now is all the extra parts,I won't want the 2 remotes as I can use mine off my 8043 for both models,my question is where do I get my extra parts needed ie motors/ir receivers and all the rest? I want to get them the cheapest way possible and they will need to be shipped to Ireland with no problems too.Any links would be good to!

Thanks in advance,

David.

If you buy from Shop.Lego.com, you will get the best prices. Here is the hyperlink to the Ireland version of the website, with the various Lego Power Functions elements for sale. Bricklink prices are typically higher for Power Functions stuff, and the 9 Irelend Bricklink stores don't carry much Power Functions (PF) stuff. However, this Irish store has a decent selection Technic parts. If you want more selection, these UK Bricklink stores will probably ship to Ireland -- look on their "Splash" page and "Store Terms" page. The stores with the bigger selection probably will carry Technic parts.

If you want to know how all of the PF elements interface with each other, see Lego's official Power Functions website. :classic: The "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) page answers a lot of things.

Iv just Looked up the parts I need to fully rc the loader and it's nearly 90 euro, very expensive don't u think !maybe I should be just adding power function set and forget about the rc even tho it would be nice.

Another possibility would be to use Lego Direct as they have a very unique pricing system.. I don't know if that make paying for LA's cheaper or more expensive but its worth looking into if your interested..

It's true that the RC parts (receiver + remote) does have a hefty up-front cost, but you can always just switch out those parts between different MOCs instead of buying those for every MOC. The most you should ever get at once would be 4, because that's how many channels the remotes can use, so having more is only handy if you either break remotes often or you plan to RC a LOT of MOCs.

I've wanted to do this to my 8265 as well. Where are the instructions for making the model full rc located?
